The Hazards of Commuting

I was riding the TTC home this afternoon and taking my usual subway nap, when in my subconscious I smelled something so strong that I immediately woke up. I opened my eyes and looked around. The man next to me was happily munching away on a bag of peanuts (in shell, no less). The aroma was over-powering. It actually gave me a headache. It was then that I remembered how many people have very strong allergies to nuts. Just being in the same room as the scent has been known to kill people. I wonder if this man had any idea he could have killed someone with his seemingly innocuous transit snack. It made me glad that I'm only allergic to cats. A part of me feels guilty that I didn't say anything. Is it only rude to eat peanuts in public, when in the presence of allergic people? Maybe we should have peanut-free zones outside of schools?

In other news: Stephanie Raye emailed me! Well, at least I think it was her. It's signed by her, and from her website? Who cares. I just enjoy the thought. She's so very, very cool. And yes, she's very attractive too. Methinks I will get all fan-girlish and ask for a signed 8x10 glossy. Hee hee.
