The Art of Hoop Jumping
I really hated the tests that I just had to complete.
I had part one of what is supposed to be a two part medical assessment done. My insurance company requested a third-party to assess my physical condition to ascertain whether they (my insurance company) should be paying for further physiotherapy and rehabilitation services. I'm sure that it's just procedure, but given my recent experiences with my insurance company, you cannot really blame me for being bitter and pessimistic.
They ran me through a series of written and physical tests, hoping to catch me in an inconsistency. It was stressful to say the least. I was completely exhausted after 3 hours of physical testing.
My patience was further tested later this afternoon when I was attempting to get an occurrence report from the Toronto Police Headquarters.
To bring you all up to speed, a while back it was brought to my attention that my license plates off of my wrecked car were stolen. In the aftermath of my accident, I guess I wasn't really paying attention to these details. Anyway, I have to report these plates stolen to both the police and the Ministry of Transportation so that I'm not liable for their usage post-theft.
My cousin, the auto mechanic, recommended that I should go to MTO and fill out some forms. I went to MTO last week, and they said that I have to report it to the cops first. So I called the cops last week, and filed a verbal occurrence report on the phone. Then the cops told me to go back to MTO to fill out the License Renewal form. I then went back to MTO and they told me that they need the hard copy of the occurrence report before I can request a form.
So flash forward to today. I make my way downtown on my "sick day off" to get that paperwork. I get to the police headquarters with a mere 5 minutes to spare before closing time. It turns out that I have to pay them $40 to get the occurrence report, and it will take 2 to 3 weeks before it gets mailed to me! I don't get it. The cops want me to pay them to get a copy of the report for a crime that I dutifully I reported. Talk about a bad way to encourage citizens to report crimes. I am so discouraged. I forked over the forty bucks, and now have to wait until I get this document before I deal with MTO again. Watch, they'll probably charge me a fee too.
Ugh, and to top it all off. I have two huge bug bites from our walk in the park last night. Of course, being the type to not leave well enough alone, I've been scratching at them incessantly.
After all that stressing out, it was good to have dinner with FoxyLady and take in a screening of "The Day After Tomorrow". Mindless entertainment will always do the trick. At least I have some of my stress over with.
Tomorrow, part two of my medical assessments will be done. It will over soon.
