The Joy of Monday

It was a gorgeous Monday to be sure. I normally don't enjoy the start of the work week, but sometimes one jumps out due to the simple beauty of it all.

Okay. So I'm writing nonsense. I realize that.

I just started off this beautiful day with a morning commute with FoxyLady. She was sweet enough to offer a lift to work. It was just a great feeling; riding in the car, seeing the fantastic cityscape of Toronto go by, a clear sunny morning, and sitting next to someone who thinks I'm special enough to drive to work. Needless to say, I was 45 minutes late due to traffic and a comedy of errors when FoxyLady realized she left her laptop at home, but I didn't give a damn. I just really enjoyed her company. Thank God for flex hours.

After work I rushed off to physio, and then chilled out at home resting from the weekend's activities. I was also trying to de-stress because I have two medical examinations this week that were forced upon me by my insurance company to prove that I'm still injured and in need of more rehab. Bastards! Anyway, knowing this, FoxyLady called me out for a nighttime walk.

It was a gorgeous night. I really needed to get outside and appreciate it. My therapist had told me that moments like these is what I need most often. It's true. We get so caught up in our lives, and the drama, that we never heed our need for a moment of inner peace. It was so nice out, even for the late hour, that I didn't even need to wear a jacket. Walking around the park, listening to the uber-creepy frogs croak by the lake, feeling the evening breeze on my face, and holding hands was the best gift I've received in a long while. I felt just truly thankful.

Mondays can be just as good as any weekend. You just need to make the most of it.
