The Hand Operation

Thanks for all your warm thoughts and prayers. FoxyLady had her operation today and even though it ran late, everything seems to be fine.

She had a couple of fractures and dislocations so they went in and inserted some (ugh) pins into her bones. The pins will come out in two weeks; so that's another procedure (if I understand my drug-addled honey properly). She's in plenty of pain, but is being such a trouper. The pain meds do help. I am astounded how brave she is with the pain management. I was such a wuss with my knee arthroscopy in comparison to her procedure. With some TLC, she'll be out of her cast in six weeks.

Anyway, she's very lucky to have her family around to take care of her. I wish I could be there for her more, but distance and lack of transportation is a problem. Besides, being the huge clutz that I am, I'm bound to hit her or trip her by accident, and THAT would be very, very bad.

It's funny, but I think we should both apply for temporary handicapped permits. What a gimpy pair we are!
