The Upgrade
Since my Toshiba-employed cousin was kind and outright gave me the e750 Pocket PC, I finally set it up this weekend. It was only sitting in my home office for over 4 months! He originally was going to give it me for $250, but instead felt generous and gave me the unit for free!
So now I have officially retired my trusty Palm IIIxe which I've had for over 4 years. The new Pocket PC is an upgrade in more than just hardware, as I am now running Microsoft Windows Mobile. This should make my Microsoft-centered life easier.
Anyhow, I am pretty impressed. I have a colour screen, the ability to play audio/video files, seamless compatibility with MS Office, a voice recorder, the ability to read my digital photo files directly from my Compact Flash card, a wireless internet card, and no more Palm-oriented crash errors! Not bad for a free toy!
Another bonus: I've not only discovered free (and unsecured) wireless internet access at home, but there's also free access at work too!
People should really learn to secure their wireless networks. Heh heh. A wi-fi bandit is born!
