The Senior Citizen Cop-Out

Today my dad turns 65! Happy Birthday Daddy!

Anyway, now that both he and my Mom are 65, they can now use the excuse that they're seniors for pretty much anything. Believe me, it's already happening.

All through his surprise birthday lunch at Jack Astor's, my Dad kept using it as the reason why he can't drink as much, or that he doesn't remember how old I am, or that he can't remember if he left the stove on.

Sigh.

With these great milestones, comes a great deal of responsibility for yours truly. I even heard both my folks saying to their friends: "Now Reza (that's my family nickname) can take care of us both!"

Hahaha. I think the tables have turned, and now I'm the caregiver!

Happy Birthday Dad.... enjoy the cake while you're allowed to have it!
